Provisioning

Provisioning #

There are 2 ways to provision reseller accounts or manage existing ones, through the 'Reseller' interface of the enterprise portal or through the REST API.

This section of the documentation outlines how to provision resellers through the enterprise portal. For more information on using the API for provisioning, please refer to the dedicated API documentation.

Creating a New Reseller #

A new reseller account can be created by clicking the '+ Create New Reseller' button in the top right of the page. To initially create the reseller, the following properties are required:

Step 1: Reseller Details #

Detail Description
Name The name of reseller so that they can be uniquely identified.
Reference The reference number is a free text field which can be populated with a reference number from a different system. This allows the reseller to be more easily identified and will also be provided within billing outputs so that reseller usage between systems can be tracked.
Country The country that the reseller is located in. This will be used to default localization and number formatting settings.
Time Zone Select the default timezone for the reseller.
Notes The notes are a free text field which can be populated with information that may be relevant to other users supporting the reseller.
Document note
These properties can be changed once a reseller has been created.

Reference

The reference number for the reseller is a completely free type field which allows an external reference to be assigned to a resellers's account. This is designed so that service providers can provide their own reference number for resellers making them more easily identified between different management systems.

Document note
The reference number provided here will be displayed on any invoices received and will also be added to billing outputs, to make sure it is as easy as possible to identify resellers. If a reference is not provided, the reseller's tenant Id will be provided in invoice and billing outputs.

Step 2: Primary User Details #

Every reseller account created requires at least 1 admin user to be created. This user will be given the permission to manage other users on the resellers's account.

Document note
The primary user will be sent an invitation email as soon as the reseller account has been created.

Step 3: Role Assignment #

At this point the reseller account should have been successfully created. To complete the provisioning process, user roles and access need to be configured to ensure the reseller has access to the features they require.

For information about assigning roles and access, please refer to the Reseller Users section.

Managing Resellers #

All provisioned resellers can be updated by clicking the 'Edit' link against the reseller in the Accounts Grid.
